Claiming to be the British Small Business Champions the FSB is a lobbying and benefits group for small businesses with principal offices in London, Glasgow, Blackpool, Cardiff and Belfast. The site contains their policy, membership details, press releases, a library of documents, contact details and general information.
Small Business Advice Service
If you are thinking about or already are running a small business in England with less than 10 employees you may find this site helpful. They offer free and independent business advice provided by accredited business advisers, all of whom are members of the Enterprise Agency Network. Free registration gives you access to information and tools including reference documents, checklists, business planning software and links to other information sources and services. The pop up navigation is annoying but the quality of the information is worth the bother.

It's simple, clean and easy to get around with loads of good advice for small and new businesses or anyone thinking of starting one.

Business Link is a government sponsored national business advice service for both large and small businesses although small businesses would most likely benefit the most from the information and advice they offer. The site features a local office finder, various guides and articles as well as a directory of business support services.
Forum of Private Business
This not-for-profit pressure group represents over 25,000 businesses in the UK and aims to influence laws and policies affecting small-medium sized businesses. The site offers guides, research, news and information as well as detailing the benefits of becoming a member which include a free information helpline and discounts on various services.
Small Business Europe
Small Business Europe is an organisation which aims to maximise the interests of UK SMEs at the European level by strengthening the dialogue between them and the decision-makers in Brussels. According to the site, which contains details of the organisation, "SMEs should think of smallbusiness|europe as their unofficial embassy to the EU".
